A jewellery store in Auckland’s Lynn Mall shopping centre was allegedly burgled by hammer-wielding men this morning.

Police say the incident occurred at about 11.15am.

“Two males wearing masks entered the store armed with hammers, smashed display cases, and took a number of items,” a spokesperson said. “They left the shopping centre via the underground carpark on to Totara Avenue, driving a black Toyota Mark X.

“The car had been stolen from a Massey address earlier today.”

A worker in a nearby store told 1News the jewellery store is a Michael Hill.
