David Sionepulu (19) died in a fatal accident after a car he was the front passenger lost control on Ngapipi Rd in Orakei this morning Thursday 7th.
Auckland City District Road Policing Manager Inspector Gavin believed that the scale of damage caused by the accident suggested alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
The driver of the vehicle left the scene and police have yet to locate him.
Families and friends have posted face book messages expressing their condolences over the death of Mr Sionepulu.
Aunty Lupe Vakalahi wrote, “GOOD DIE YOUNG !!! RIP DAVID VAKALAHI SIONEPULU !!! you will always and forever remain forever in our hearts !!”!

Police said that there was an earlier crash nearby Tamaki Drive and two middle aged men are in critical conditions in Auckland Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, is a Glen Innes resident while the other man was the front seat passenger.
“It’s frustrating for Police and the public that some drivers continue to ignore the proliferation of messages and warnings about the dangers of driving too quickly and/or drinking and driving. As long as people continue to do this, families will be torn apart by road fatalities and long term injuries.”
