A warm 21st birthday cerebration has been held at the Nga Tapuwae Hall in Mangere last Saturday 30 of September for Ms Villa Malia Amelia Vaeatangitau and cousin Ms Salote Nanasipau’u Finau.
Hailed from Tonga in the villages of ‘Utulau, Lapaha and Fatai families and kainga joined together as they attended this special occasion that started with a Mass in the Catholic St Theresa Church in Mangere.
Villa’s parents are Mrs Taiana Finau and Mr Falakiko Manuha’apai of Fatai and Lapaha.
Salote’s parents are Okusitino Finau and Talite Finau. ‘Okusitino is brother to Taiana and the two daughters have both born on September 27, 1991.
Free meal and live music have been made available by the families of the two cousins to all visitors and guests.
The programme for the day includes the presentation of kava, koloa and ngaue which is the Tonga way of honouring the two girls on their special day.
It was a very touching ceremony according to some of the guests.
